  • My understanding is that £15,900 had to be paid before fabrication of the Hull. From the pictures on the site given, that appears to bethe case.

'After paying £15,900 this is all we had to show for it:'

Seems he was fabricating the hull in that picture.

As for your additions, from my look on his website, it seems Cap'n Bob changed his mind like the wind with what he wanted the builder to do, and withold monies.

The people in question could be in very dodgy water and are doing their legal case no good by bad mouthing him across the place and making what are libelous and slanderous comments.

A lot of there problems are partially self inflicted and whilst they have had a nightmare you cant help but wonder how much of that is down to them and their knowledge and demands.

I found this thread tonight, and have been reading the various websites. I went to look at Tuffin's company website...

    http://www.maesburymarineservices.co.uk/

"We are currently mourning the loss of Colin Tuffin-
who tradgically was taken away from us on Sunday night.
Colin had lived on the canal for 10 years and had done much work
up and down the canal for many of people.
He will be sadle and greatly missed by his family and many friends, he was 54 xx"

the website is now saying he's deceased?!
    TSB: £4900
    Virgin: £4700

Today is the first day of the rest of my life...

"police name canal death man - 11/12/09

A man whose body was found in the Montgomery Canal near Oswestry was has been named by police as 54-year-old Colin John Tuffin.
Mr Tuffin’s body was discovered in the canal on Monday.
Police spokesman Richard Ewels said the coroner for Mid and North Shropshire, Mr John Ellery, is due to open an inquest in the next few days."

It might be an idea for the mods to lock this thread in view of the circumstances. I have reported my own post so they take a look at the thread.
  • The OP said the man was called Barry not Colin.

    Maybe he was a relative?

Unless of course they are true. Is it true that they are slandering? Oops, it seems that you may have just done some slandering yourself.

    Here we go again:

    Slander - spoken defamation
    Libel - written defamation

    In his case he is.

He was perfectly happy with what he saw and is welcome to share that. It doesnt mean people like the OP shouldnt do proper research then bad mouth him when it all goes wrong.

Interestingly I reread this and note the majority of the problems imo would be snagging items. Surely on a 60k boat there is a snagging process like new homes.
