Deeds how do i......

Get the deeds of my house changed into my married name without going through the expense of a solicitor. Is it the same as changing my name with the land registry or is this something different. I really dont have a clue, and help would be great.

"deeds" in the physical sense are almost a thing of the past - if a property has been registered, then the Land Registry now hold only Electronic deeds which means that any paperwork conveyances, trust docs etc will be returned to your solicitor who may well return them to you.
To prove that the "single you" is the same person as the "married you", i would have thought you would need to produce a marriage certificate
Havign said all that, there is nothing stoppping anyone changing their name, simply by saying "I am now Miss Blah Bah or whatever, as long as the change of name is not meant as part of a fraud.0 -
