All the same, before everyone goes and gets plastered (it's a housing forum!) thanks for being nice to me this year. :kisses:
I hope you find something good inside the package that will be 2010, especially those of you who have been searching for some time.;)0 -
They got Mr.B....again!
I thought he had been welcomed back(?), he wasn't disguising his identity and could post using emotions.
Anyone know why he was PPR'd?
Suspect he and Jeremy got up too many noses in the arms last night
Happy new Year to all the "nice" people - thanks for the tips, thought prevoking discussion and laughs that you've given this lurker. :beer:Murphy was an optimist!!!0 -
Is there a snow thread somewhere out there or are people still discussing non-existent house price moves or unprovable predictions?
It's winter wonderland time again here - kids all off school again, and - looking out the window and reading weather forecasts - I suspect they're going to be off all week, if not longer...
Lucky me has just had a little unexpected gift of more marking appear in my inbox last night, so I can sit toasty warm at my computer earning gently, without needing to commute anywhere at all.
It's spectacular here - the outlines of the outside have nearly all disappeared, and it's just this fabulous blur of 'white'.

Same here Carolt....except the two younger boys school didn't close until we were enroute.
Absolutely nightmare journey, I really didn't want to leave the house, cars sliding all over the place, cars abandoned, a motorcyclist came off in front of me (he was ok) and nothing moving at more than 15mph (that was the maximum speed, at points you could walk quicker!). Luckily, my next door neighbour had got a little further up the road and found out school was closed, turned round in a side road and saw me on her way back and let me know (traffic was going so slow, well it was stand still at the point, that we could talk through the car windows at each other). So I also turned off onto a side road and went around the block to get back to the main road.
Normally takes me 10 minutes to drive to school (7 mins at quiet times), it took me over 45 minutes to get there and back and I didn't even reach the school, still had just under half the distance to go when I turned around!
Eldest sons school opened at 11, he left here just after 10 to get to a friends near school and I rang him shortly before 11 to say that a message had flashed up from the school on twitter that it was open to those who could safely manage the journey. If he had been home when that message came up, I would have said to stay at home but he proved he could get there as his friend lives past the school. Mind you, it was not an easy journey for him and he reported many cars sliding all over the place, not being able to get up the bridges and hills plus cars also being abandoned.
Strangely, 8 ish miles up the road and they have had no snow whatsoever! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

It's lovely here. Only tractors are moving on the road.
Yesterday, I had to rescue DD2 from work in Exeter before the weather closed in. I'm sure they thought I was mad, as there was no snow there at all. However, I was right, because the hill up from the station was impassable by 6pm, and her train would have arrived almost an hour after that.
Stocked up on goodies while in town, so it can do what it likes now!:D0 -
I've just watched a car get to the end of our close and not stop at the end, bump up the kerb and end up on the pavement..thank goodness we had paused a little way back to throw a snowball or we would have been under that car!
He was going much too fast and thought his brakes would work in the same way as normal....idiot!We made it!
