So ''ladies'' can drink pints but not be lovers in your book? (insert shrug smilie)

    I think she should.

lostinrates, ladies can, & should most certainly be lovers.

& in response to your 2nd sentence:

It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

How many eggs do you get from them?

I have a weird thought of a Eunuch chasing a chicken round a large pen for some reason :D

ATM not many, 3-4 a week? We have ''breed'' chickens not hybrids for big egg production. In late spring to late autumn we'll have most hens laying an egg a day...one or two at a time going off lay to brood for a few weeks. :)

We could get more eggs out of them, but we get about right most of the time, for us. when we move one of the options is a more serious poultry operation: but not just chooks (I like my breeds, wouldn't mind complicating it a little mre with some home hybrids (of various crosses) and one more type, probably a bought in hybrid for more eggs..)

I have one who I'm hoping will start her first lay pretty soon. And we have an old girl who gives us one every now and then, but she's well past peak...

I love your animal posts, lir - rather more than I love animals, actually. :)

They are so beautifully written and conjure up this whole rural idyll.

Have you thought of writing a kind of modern Diary of a Provincial Lady meets Jams Herriot? - kind of heartwarming tales of poshish girl in the country, mixing with the animals?

BTW, if anyone's not read Diary of A Provincial Lady, I can't recommend it highly enough - 1930's, very funny, and I liked her so much - I was so so sad when I finished the book. :( As when always does feel with a really good read. :)

Maybe like we will feel when this thread ends.

    Ooops. :o

Given that tells us to start a new thread at 1000 posts, we appear to have missed the mark slightly - your post was no 1994 or something.

I feel rather sad I missed page 100 of my own thread - never started a 100-plus-er before.

I do feel rather chuffed it's kept going this long. :)

So, before we knock this one on the head, girls and guys I would like your suggestions:

    (a) for thread names please - creativity appreciated, but let's keep it clean, or I fear it won't get past the censors' all-seeing eyes. ;) And

    (b) for some suggested topics of conversation or rules. I think chocolate, tasty men and weather worked rather well. :) But in case we've exhausted those as subject matter, does anyone have any other suggestions? (Not bondage, sadomasochism etc, please.)

I vote for: pies, clothes and ...oh sod it...chocolate.

Too good to leave out. :p

    Any thoughts, anyone?
