removing BT voyager modem files

on a friends pc which i have been asked to help with they have BT voyager modem files installed from many years ago. Now they dont use BT service, and want to remove these files.

try control panel and the unistall option, but it says install files not located.

The BT software appears on program files and in win explorer.

Any tips on how one can uninstall this properly?

There are two ways to do this:

    1) Go to Start/Run, and type Regedit.

    Drill down to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
Highlight 'Main' and look for the value Window Title in the right pane.
    Highlight it, and hit delete.
When you delete this value, "Microsoft Internet Explorer" becomes the default window title.

    Now go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar.
Delete the values BrandBitmap en SMBrandBitmap in the right pane.

    2) The 'miracle cure'... :

Close Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.

    1. Press the Start button.
    2. Press Run.
    3. Paste in rundll32.exe iedkcs32.dll,Clear
(This is case sensitive, so better not type it manually)
    4. Press OK.
    5. Restart Internet Explorer.

This will also remove Internet Explorer branding.

No, branding is where it says 'Internet Explorer by BT' etc. Removing the branding just reverts it to plain vanilla IE-it does not remove IE itself.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Then tell them to go look for it!
