My neighbour bought a computer from p c world signed up for b t broadband the computer failed and she was given her money back. She cant buy another computer until her husband returns from abroad in Nov however b t say she will have to continue paying her broadband subscription whether she has a computer or not is this correct ,what is the position ,I will try to help her .

Might be possible to terminate the contract but I would expect there to be a fee for doing so.

depends, different methods of selling/purchasing have different cooling off periods, but she is hardly unhappy with the BB service?

Doesnt seem that BT have done anything wrong and unfortunately she has signed up to a long term contract. May be able to cancel it early but I am sure it will carry a charge for doing so.

Only suggestion is to get another PC. If she has returned it for a refund without her husband then she obviously has access to the account used to pay for it so unless she isnt comfortable going out to buy a PC then there is no reason she cant. If she doesnt want to buy it herself then she just has to take the hit on the BB.
