It appears that your employer has tried to make reasonable adjustments for you.
I suggest you send the letter that someone kindly wrote for you and take things from there.

It must be very frustrating for you and i sympathise, keep a cool head and i'm sure it'll get sorted.

Yes, they have. As I said, it's not my employer I have an issue with.

Do you mean the letter at the top of the thread? I wrote that, not someone else.

Thanks very much, I'm getting quite upset as I love the job.

Also having a bad day today, as I fell down the stairs this morning and am in a hell of a lot of pain. So I'm kind of taking the replies telling me I'm in the wrong to heart. I just want to continue working, you know?

    Thanks for your response.

I wouldnt shout too loud as it sounds like dismissal on the grounds of capability would be possible here.

Capability for what? I am perfectly able to do my job, I just can't walk very far, which they are aware of.

If your saying you cant walk from the car park then you are not capable of reaching your office to do your job. Given they have tried to make reasonable alterations and cant then dismissal on capability grounds could be arguable.

Im just suggesting you bear this in mind before shouting too loud.

If I don't argue it, then where do I stand? In exactly the same place as now.

I honestly doubt my employer would do that to me. I have a great employer who very much understands what having this kind of condition is like. She is very flexible, and perhaps I could suggest I work from home on my particularly bad days or something like that, and just do my best to hobble into work on my better days. It's not going to be fun though. :(

    Part of the Furniture
Mobility scooter? Segway? Skateboard? Piggy back on a strong co-worker?! Go-ped? The latter would fit in the back of the car easily and would be handy for getting around within work if you find walking difficult.

I find it difficult to walk without falling, I think trying a go-ped/segway/skateboard is kind of asking for it!

I would love a mobility scooter, but wouldn't have the strength to get it in and out of the car, or anywhere to store it at home, or the space in my little Ford Fiesta!

If you have a blue badge, would you be able to park on the road when you are in and out visiting clients?

Doesn't solve the problem of getting from the car park on a normal day, but if your employer will agree to you working at home when you have a flare up...?

Well the blue badge means I can park on yellow lines and things, so I should be able to park close to most of the clients, yes.

I will have to speak to her about it, but she is going to write to the council again requesting a parking space is provided under the DDA, as the Equality and Human Rights Commission advised her too.
