Just accepted delivery of my new 1St mainstream card after being sub prime. Its JJB and in current climates the Apr for purchases is 24.9% which I think isn't too bad considering how some mainstream cards are 30%+.

From Online application to receiving the card was 8 days.

The better cards charge around 13 - 18% so it is still expensive if you carry a balance on it for a number of months.

  • I had a default from 5 1/2yrs ago and 1yr of green (0s) from cap 1 and also a couple of missed payments from 3 yrs ago.

Was declined from Virgin / Tescos.

I'm just chuffed as my ccj has dropped of after 6 yrs and got limit increase from Vanquis last month too.

Cap 1 is about to be closed as no increase in 4 yrs!!

But now got visa and mastercard with Vanquis and JJB

No more need to apply for anything else.
