Further to Gakusei's Podiobooks link, the American company Escape Artists Inc also releases materials under the Creative Commons Attribution Non-commercial No derivatives license. Which means the files are freely downloadable, but you can't sell them or change them.

Audible do a free trial... Sign up, download and then cancel.

I'm an otr truck driver and I got hook on these audio books by Robert Jordan called The Wheel of Time, I'm on book five right now. very interesting and very well read.

I got the last 2 at a very good price on ebay. This seller usually starts them at a bargin price http://myworld.ebay.com/tazz404

I haven't quite figured out how to resell them on ebay.

Audiobook Treasury offer free audio books with the ebook of the novel right next to it.
Handy if like me you're studying one of the books.:T
