Do you think expensive underwear is worth it?

  • i buy my bras from agent provoceteur when they have their 75% off sale. they give the best shape and support ever. and they're so pretty.:j
cant justify buying my knickers from there though
  • I'm a 32J so don't have much choice. Pananche fit me the best so I buy them from where is cheapest. I don't buy matching knickers - instead I buy ASDA ones for everyday, and M&S for special occasions - I just match colours
  • Expensive doesn't always mean quality but the very worst thing you can do with bras is bung them in the washing machine, even on a delicates wash. A chum of mine who was fitted at Rigby & Peller was advised that she really only needed to hand-wash her bras once a week and if she did they would last and last. This has proven to be completely true and the bras weren't even that expensive. I'd have popped round there myself if I actually needed some support but alas I do not.

I don't buy the proper expensive stuff (La Perla etc) but my friend does, and she earns half what I do and is quite economical in other areas. It's all about priorities I guess.

For knickers, I would spend enough to make sure they don't go grey and saggy quickly. M&S multipack ones with lycra are great and last ages. Cheap pants are a false economy!!!!

Bra-wise, I would spend enough to get something really good and supportive (and I am only a B-C cup!). To those who think small bust = no need for support, you are sooo wrong! I also buy good sports bras and use them for brisk walks and cycling as well as running. My breasts hurt if they jiggle! And I cringe every time I see a girl running without a sports bra - oooouch.

I also buy cheapo pretty Primark bra and knicker sets but those are only on for 5 minutes at a time IYKWIM. :rotfl:

    Great thread btw!

Totally agree with Atomised that good quality, luxurious underwear makes you feel better. I'm wearing Odille coffee lace knickers from Oasis (sale - £3!) right now and they are fab.

BTW, on the subject of La Senza - they have a store here but it always looks so cheap and tacky. Don't know if it's the decor, the lighting, the layout, the stock, the staff or the customers (lots and I mean lots of chavs) or a mixture of all of the above but it just doesn't come across as a 'quality' undies shop. Is their stuff actually good quality?

I agree about La Senza. I can't say quality comes to mind when I go in their stores either. Their stuff doesn't seeem much different to the likes of Matalan etc:confused: Maybe wrong, never particularly drawn into spending much time looking there.

PS What a nice friend you are!!
