Curtains not left, but on fixtures and fittings list?

i think its wrong they took them if they were on the list, but you dont want to start off in your new home with solicitors action, possible court action etc etc. even after all that, as said above, theres no guarantee yoyu would get the curtains that were there or your money back for the costs and work done.
when we moved here, i dont even remember a fixtures and fittings list (rubbish solicitor) but we arrived to find every single window covering gone. i was not happy as big bay window is overlooked at the front, but had to just go to cheapy store and get some plain nets as 'emergency' coverings (after having an old sheet up at the window for a few days)
i was then sitting here today thinking tomyself that the nets may well stay for much longer than i had thought as they're quite nice. i know for certain that i wouldnt have kept someone elses curtains due to being quite fussy, but it was the initial days that we needed some coverage that was annoying.
get some dirt cheapy voile panels, plain curtains from argos, nets from the pound store and enjoy the home until you start organising decor,0 -

Do people still have net curtains?
well thats exactly my reaction when we were deciding what to do for the short term, i hate nets usually, but we couldnt have voile on the bay window because they would have been hard to find ones really short to get to the window sill and the sill sticks out so long ones would have looked weird. luckily they left the horrible curtain pole that is on the outside of the bay (in the room) so we had the option to put something on there but then we would have chopped the bay area out of the room when drawn, which i didnt want to do.
so, emergency was to get some very plain net (which sort of look like voile if you squint) just for privacy. then i got some thin cotton floor length tab top stuff, which goes on the edge of the bay but is pulled back at all times. its all white, cos i wanted the shabby chic look (which nets dont really feature in) but im happy enough with it to keep it for a while, its not dreadful.0 -

Hi all, thanks for the replies...
Well we probably would have kept the conservatory ones (and we are talking about 6 pairs here!), as they were reasonable, and we certainly wouldn't have worried about replacing them in the next year or so! to be honest, knowing how time ends up flying, it probably would have stretched on even further!!
If they had even replaced the curtains with others, that would be better than bare windows... Or if they had been honest from the start - we could have negotiated to buy them, or at least been aware of the situation, and budgeted accordingly...
So.. we have emailed the solicitor to ask him to ring us about this, and I think a diplomatic phone call to the previous vendors over the weekend, in the hope that it has just been an honest mistake.
Thanks again,
ps, our last house used to have net curtains as we lived in such a central area, we would have been far too exposed if we hadn't!!0
