As far as I know it is USUALLY restricted to £1,000 PER ACCOUNT, PER PAYEE - i.e. no repeat payments with Halifax (unless someone else can contradict that experience?) I have ever only mangaged to send £1000 per Halifax current account, not multiple £1,000s (Not what we should have to accept at this stage, I agree..)
From halifax Online (I have only managed £1000 by FP & then only from 1 of my 3 Reward accs:confused:)

If a funds transfer is being made to an account with another organisation then up to £15 000 can be made per individual payment, however please be aware that only one payment can be made to an external mandate per day.
The Faster Payments System will currently not accept transfers higher than £1000.

I once managed to send 4 x £1000 to my Nationwide account. Usually I can do 3 x £1000 to the same account without a problem, but sometimes it refuses to send anything at all. Very unreliable.

I tested the faster payment from Halifax current today and it arrived at the non halifax account within 2 hours.
    I sent £1k.
Can you tell me if this is the maximum amount you can send and if so,how many faster payments can go through in one day.
Also any tips about varying the amounts or will it be OK to send the same amount each time?
How to get yr Mega funds out ........? (Big problem to do much FP even with 3 reward accs) so-

    1) Probably Best -Direct from the websaver account - any amount can be transferred but it goes by BACS {to somewhere like Natwset with a sensible FP option, if you need to move it on}

2)Transfer to halifax current account(s) and use a Debit card (Egg & NSI allow)

    3) I have no cheque books on my Reward accs in view of this Halifax will give you a cheque or Bankers Draft FOC- (good for me to walk down the road to the Britannia)

    4) Other - suggestons welcome ;)

Have the fixed ISA rates changed?
    alared wrote: »
    NO
    1 Year £500+ 2.50%
    2 Years £500+ 3.50%
    3 Years £500+ 3.75%
    4 Years £500+ 4.25%

When I was talking to them a couple of days ago about two maturing 4 and 12 Dec, the guy said he expected rates to change 'several times' between now and 12th. While 'several' possibly seems unlikely in the space of 2-3 weeks, at least one change looks possible... well, probably almost certain since I'm seriously hoping they'll stay as they are!

Which is true. But you can duplicate (and more) the external mandate and then use each one to it's maximum of £15k. I transferred out £60k to the same source, on one day, using 4 x identical bill payments a couple of months ago - where CHAPS wasn't worthwhile.

When I was talking to them a few days ago about my maturing websaver the guy said they never know when rates are going to change, and needless to say the 1 year fixed, which I asked him about, changed yesterday from 3.5% to 2.35%,which seems quite a drop.

The 2 year is 4.2%,so it`s pretty obvious they are wanting you to fix for longer.

I have always found that when you speak to them on the phone they all seem to have their own version of whatever.
In my local branch no matter what you enquire about they never seem to know but worse still they never bother to find out unless you`re really persistent.

You can still get 3% fixed for a year with their Guaranteed Reserve account.

It is rare, unless linked to a planned primary marketing campaign, that those in branch or on phone will have the faintest idea what pricing decisions are being made on savings accounts.
