How do you unlock write protect on your XD card?

I have windows 2000 with a 25 all in one card reader seam that the card reader lock my XD card from taking any more pictures on the camera!. Keep saying on the camera Write Protect?. 
Um, so how do you unlock the xd card from saying write protect?. When I place the card into the card reader brings up the old photo shot which I thought I deleted the picture.
Um. Do I need to read format the xd card see if that works or please help...

Maybe right click the card when it appears then properties an untick Read Only if applicaple.

Just says Archive which is tick?.
But I check here http://skyscrapercity.com/archive/index.php/t-260204.html think I need to turn off the protect pictures function again I don't know what the symbol looks like for this function!?.0 -

Right update how can you delete an ufe file?.
What I did I manage to download the Unlock Assistant now tansfer into a ufe file. Card now working again but how do you delete an ufe file?.
There is no lock on the card....0
