Buying seeds & nuts

I love bread with seeds and nuts (usually sunflower & pumpkin seeds and walnuts) which I have been able to indulge in recently having been persuaded that I 'needed' a B/M.:p So far I have bought these extra ingredients from Asda and holland & barrett, but I was wondering if there is anywhere that I can buy them cheaper? I have lots of tupperware so would be quite happy to buy 'loose' as opposed to posh packets, but the only place I've found that does this locally doesn't seem very clean, stock seems dated and pricey.
Any other good sources out there?
Thanks,
Kaz x

Hmmm,
I've found some good deals @ H&B and Tesco ... my local Health Food shop is fairly reasonable, but not quite as competetive as H&B, Tesco.
The only thing I would say about buying them 'loose' as opposed to pre-packed is the fact they are exposed to dust, stale faster and can often be of dubious quality simply because you don't know how long they have been there, exposed to whatever.
I shall be keen to read any replies because I'd also like to buy in bulk, but so far, to be honest, I keep a keen eye on H&B for offers, Tesco for basic and of course, a keen eye open on the reduced counter

I'd agree with Queeenie,H&B are pretty good value and they do sell them in whopping bags.Sunflower seeds are cheaper than pumpkin seeds.
According to my list of baking supplies prices (I bake for my school and need to add up cost of ingredients) sunflower seeds from H&B are 7.8p per ounce or £1.26 per lb.

If you don't use them up as quick as you intend they store well in a tupperware box in the freezer.0 -
my local health shop will order seeds in bulk ... for instance they had a salt-cellar sized tin of poppy seeds @ £1.25, but when I asked if they had bigger sizes, they got me a kilo for £3.25. so if you've a store nearby, it might be worth asking if you can't see bigger sizes of the seeds you like on the shelves0

Julian Graves have just had a 25% off everything for the last 3 days.
I popped in today but came out empty handed.
Which was good for my purse :rotfl:

There's a fab health food and swimwear (no, this is not a joke, it's opposite Early Learning) shop in York. Sells several varieties of seeds, plain labels in plastic bags. Seveal sizes; I buy loads for the BM.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0

I think Julian Graves are really good for nuts and seeds. I bought 1kg of sunflower seeds for about £2.50.0

Thanks everyone for taking the time to post. My nearest Julian Graves is at a 'designer outlet' - although it is quite a distance from here I will have to make sure that I pop in next time I'm in the area.
Mishy - that link is great, thanks for that! The prices seem pretty good, especially as they seem to be organic goods.
If anyone else has any other suggestions then please do post - I'm sure that on here there will be quite a few OS's that buy lots of these things and would love to make a bit more 'pin money'
Thanks all!

I've grown lots of those poppies too. However, heard on the radio some years ago, when I was considering using these seeds in bread, that they advised against. Don't remember the details, but they're not called opium poppies for nothing!
Would love to hear the experiences of others.
