Best place for these..ideas please

The de-clutter for cash syndrome has finally kicked in and I'm getting loads of stuff together for at least 2 car boot sales, but I've also got some larger items that I want to sell.

I've got:
Pine computer workstation
Outdoors kids plastic house and a climbing thing with slide
Baby outdoor swing
4 alloy wheels with tyres
Kids quad bike

Question is, where's the best place to advertise this kind of stuff? Local shop, free ad in paper, printed pictures on a board when I do my car boot, works notice board?

Any other ideas?
Thanks!

There all quite big, have you thought about an ad in the local paper/newsagents then get the yokals who buy them to pick them up :)

    Will save on shipping anyways

I am going to move this thread to the Ebay Carboot etc board as I am sure that more people will see it and they will probably have the answer to your question....

I've tried small ads with my bulky stuff, also ads in the local Spar and post office window. I've put a notice up in my window as my house fronts onto the street, but you could also put a sign in your garden.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

shipping depends entirely on who you ship it by - but for a quad bike you would have to pay pretty much for a dedicated vehicle as it would be too big and heavy for any of the overnight parcel companies. problem with dedicated vehicles is that you pay by the mile - so the further away you have to send it the more expensive it gets - a rough idea of a charge for this type of service is about £1.30 per mile (from dispatch to delivery point - you only pay one way) though you can always state buyer collects.

Another way to shift stuff - if you're not so worried about getting paid is https://www.freecycle.org - this site is all about giving away stuff you would otherwise throw out, and believe me you can get anything - obviously as these are items being given away to get them out of the way you cant always guaruntee they're in a perfect state of repair. BUT to give you an example, I got a rowing machine the other week (FOR FREE) all i need to do is replace the battery compartment as the batteries have corroded. hows that for a deal

Thanks for the replies and some great ideas there.

The quadbike is a small child's one - age 3-7yrs I'd say, but his Dad bought it for his 1st birthday (boys toys and all that!). He was scared of it for a long time and it just got put away..however, having turfed it out of it's hiding place at the weekend, 5yr DS loves it, so it'll be staying. Just have to find the battery re-charge pack that came with it (put away somewhere so safe I can't remember  )

I think for the other stuff, I'll do a notice with pics, descriptions and prices that I'll stick on the car at the car boot sale - might get some interest and it's free.

Looks like I may also have sold the smaller kids outdoor play climbing/slide combo to a colleague for £20, so a nice start :j

You can put things for sale on parenting sites such as mumsnet in their forums, someone is bound to be in your area or close enough to collect - worth a try anyway :-)

Thanks for that - had not heard of them before now.

That's the key thing - finding a local buyer who can collect due to the size of the stuff! At least it's the right time of year to get rid of the outdoor stuff!
