OP stated they were only spending the £50 in order to get the £12 of extra points that you get on the Xmas Shopping Event evenings. Splitting the transaction in two meant they would not get the bonus points - well, thats how I read it anyway. If they took the items back & got a refund, the points are taken off, too (unless you manage to spend them before you get a refund, I don't think you can have a minus balance on your card!)

To the OP, I'm sure I've read the same somewhere on the posts about multiple bags in one transaction. Sometimes these things are just down to the SA on the day, some are happy to try things, others treat it like its their own personal property! It can just be the luck of the draw as to who serves you. The best ones to try are places like the photographic or chemist counter, they seem to know less about what goes on in the rest of the store & will try it - if the till says yes then you've won!!

Haha thanks, so in future I will hunt out those I think know the least :P Or those who THINK they know the least! lolol The girl tonight was a right sod tbh lol she was just not in the mood and clearly couldn't be bothered - which is a shame as it was a very festive evening and the whole place was jumping lol
  • My store always give the amount of bags to what you have spent, so if it's possible for you to have three bags they will let it go through. This seems pretty mean of your store.
  • The till will accept one gift per £22 spend, but thats assuming you have a SA willing to scan more than more or you can use a self service till. The offer is meant to be one gwp per transaction over £22, so the SA is right in that regard. For future reference go to the pharmacy till, or a part time SA, or the most bored looking SA in there, basically anyone thats not likely to pay too much attention to what you're buying. And if it all goes pear shaped, just say you forgot your purse and try again with another SA or another store. The thing with bootsing is you win some you lose some, just shrug it off and look forward to the next glitch:D

You could e-mail them, SA's are meant to try help you with offers where ever possible and I think it was mean she didn't even try to see if the bag would go through.

Hi, I was under the assumption that it was on £22 and over so really you are only entitled to 1 gift no matter how much the spend.
But...the till will allow it so it would be upto the SA to put more than 1 through
Love, Love , Love this site.......its saved me and my family a fortune

I expect it would depend on which SA you got....yours had obviously been told "one free gift per basketload". Guess you could have paid for the first basketload, then gone back for a second, and s/he might not have noticed / questioned it.

The SAs who allow one free gift per £22 spent (ie 2 for a basket worth £44 +) are saving everyone's time and trouble, especially the people in the queue - I say, good for them!
Mind you I'm not the CEO of Boots..............lol..............
