Short term savings account - help please!

Hi,

Our house sale/purchase looks like it is about to fall through due to the front end of the chain breaking and we now have £55,000 in cash in a current account. Can anyone suggest a decent 'interest bearing' account that I could deposit the money into for the short term (i.e. easy access).

Have a look at Alliance and Leicester instant access account. Online Saver issue 5 if it is still going. Interest is in October and added to the capital and you get a bonus for 12 months. Just go on the website, atm A & L are a separate institution from Bradford and Bingley/Abbey/Santander. Hope this helps

The AA are paying 3.3% for an online account.

Birmingham Midshires 3.15% for a telephone account.
