Changing Tariffs with B Gas (not Energy Smart)

Hi, we are with B Gas and I want to change tariffs to Websaver 4, it is available to new and existing customers.

Does anyone know if when changing tariffs, does the tariff just get changed and everything else stays the same ie. the monthly Direct Debit?

The MDD will not stay the same beacuse presumably websaver 4 will have different prices to what you are currently on?

I'd presume you are switching to a cheaper tariff so they should go down providing you are not currently in debt.

We are not in debit, but it could have been boderline come the end of the winter, so I wouldnt actually mind if they did stay the same and we might end up a bit in credit.

    Thanks for the reply
  • Yes your MDD does stay the same, Bark01 is wrong. Your payments will still get reassessed when ever they are next scheduled for reassessment, and this reassessment will take place regardless of whether or not you change tariffs. If WS4 is a cheaer tariff than the one you are currently on, then it is most likely your MDD would reduce when it is next reassessed.

your direct debit will stay the same
we also changed our tariff a year ago
canceled our direct debit ages ago as BG
give a further discount off your next bills for
prompt payment. We changed to click 7
and its proving to be quite a saving, better
than the price frozen to when ever that
    we were on.

  • I also recently changed from one of the old click tariffs to WS4 and the monthly payment stayed the same.

It wasn't immediately obvious how to change as I couldn't find a link to change tariff from within my account - no doubt they deliberately choose to make this difficult - but I was able to do it by going back to the home page after logging in. It then recognised my existing account numbers automatically at the relevant part of the application.
