Urgent advice required - FTB

  • Thanks for all the advice, anyone with anymore would of course be more than welcome.

From looking at the property again today the surveyor was right on the button with his comments and I can't believe that I missed some of the things myself.

I had a long discussion with the estate agent and have given him (verbally and then later in writing) my final offer which he is going to put to the Vendors, if they come back asking for anymore then i'm going to have to walk away as i've had some more quotes for things and the costs are fairly marginal as to whether its worth doing (one Architect I know told me it barely sounds viable but I guess if I do some of the work myself it may just be).

He did say as one of the above posters mentioned that anyone else buying it will get a survey saying basically the same things and valuation and his attitude did seem to imply that he didn't disagree with me.

He's going to let me know early next week and quite ironically on my way to look at this house again this morning I drove past one of the house I looked at previously that sold but is now back on the market (one that doesn't need much work other than decorating on the face of it). If the Vendor can't accept my revised offer then I will have another look at that one.
I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling ;)
