  • Aww, yeah, I think last minute.com have some really good bargains that they send out at 10am every Thursday and they usually send some fantatsic spa offers! I think when our parents get older, they love nothing more that quality time with their kids. I think a relaxing treat with her for the weekend would be fab!!

I got this for my gran (73) as she is very difficult to buy for. Its really nice, although can't decide whether to just put pics of DS in it (her only great grand child) or put pics of all the grandchildren and him too ???

    Hi guys

My mum just turned 60 this year. She doesn't like her clothes bought for her, doesn't wear make up, already has loads of jewellery, has all the music and dvd's she likes already...argh any ideas?

There are a few websites online that you can make up photo books. I did one for my mum's bday this year, she loved it - very personal.

  • How about an exotic potted orchid? They last for ages and look stunning pretty much everywhere. My Mum was given one and now has several in a jungly corner of the living room.

I've bought this for my mum from amazon for £9.59 as we're both into family history and I think she'll enjoy completing it for me as she's always saying she wishes her mum had told her this or that. Here's a link:

Mine is a nightmare to buy for too - never wants anything except "a surprise"! Doesn't really wear perfume, make up or jewellery, doesn't like music or films, hates chocolate and would probably never speak to me again if I got her a beauty treatment / spa ... :rotfl:

  • A day trip out shopping

Trip to somewhere she has always wanted to go

Tickets to be in a TV audience..often free.

    Pay for a hairdo

Arrange for her to meet up with some friends she has lost touch with and do them an afternoon tea at your house.

    Scrathcards

    Lottery tickets

Think of the things she NEEDS to buy like loo rolls, washing powder..things she shops for every week and get a huge supply so she doesnt have to buy them for a while.

Vouchers for say Argos or Smiths

Do a card with an offer to do something like her garden or decorate a room or some sort of DIY that she can call in when she wants to.

A lovely meal out somewhere very posh
