  • Fernox didn't sort it. So i changed the whole ball !!!! assembly. New one was £10 with a brass shank instead of a plastic one.

    I asked about the tape but the plumbers merchant told me just use fernox instead and not to bother with the tape.

    I changed the tap or thing the ballcock attaches to as the instead was jagged and just incase that was the culprit.

    Am waiting for the fernox to cure and then will turn on the water for the toilet later.

    No problem using fernox/bosswhite on an all metal joint, no need to wait on the fernox curing or you will never turn the water on:) It isn't mean't to cure:)
