I'm not a big fan of christmas so hopefully will be able to avoid the fuss again this year and stay at home with a curry!
Last time that I got talked into having a christmas dinner with the folks was a bit naughty and said would only visit if we had seafood instead of the traditional turkey dinner - result was scallops followed by lobster thermidor - and they said it made a nice change!!
At least the fish fingers are still frozen, that's what I keep telling myself (Truly Madly Deeply)

We usually go to DD for Xmas tea but at lunchtime its just me and DS (21).

We have a normal Sunday roast ie Chicken or a turkey crown, stuffing, roast pots (HM), sprouts (cooked till v soft:)), carrots, broccoli, yorkies (not HM:o) and gravy made from meat juices and veg water. We are usually too stuffed after this for dessert but there's a gateau or cheesecake if we find room. To make it a Xmas lunch we have a cracker or 2 each and watch a film on telly:rotfl:
Not very exciting but neither me or DS are too fussed about Xmas, so look forward to going to DD for tea to see her kids open their pressies. Thats what Xmas is about if you're not a religious person I think.

Alibobsy, nice to hear someone else makes "pigs in blankets". I love them, always make them when doing a roast chicken, and they always disappear quick!

I always make them with good sausagemeat, stuffing mix, sage and wrap with streaky bacon. Delicious!

Mmmmmmmm sounds better than sausages wrapped on bacon.

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast and a glass of champagne. Croissants and raspberry conserve

I am making individual beef wellingtons this year as no-one wants turkey. All the usual christmas veg. Hm trifle made with raspberries and fresh custard. Hm christmas pudding for those who want it. Best chocolates and fresh coffee

Hm mince pies and a thick cream whipped with a little something alcoholic

People should end up feeling happily full but not sickly stuffed

Nuts chocolate and crisps will be available all day after lunch

Tea, sandwiches made with home cooked ham, various pickles and some salad. Christmas cake

oooh well that has helped sort my mind so now to get my shopping list ready

I think I`ll but a goose breast if I can find one as you can`t beat roast potatoes in goose fat and I`m not paying £3 for a diddly jar

Just my kind of menu Kittie, your individual wellies sound good.
