  • Hi all,

Just transferred £500 from paypal to me to pay to the bank of dad. Hoping the payment will clear on Friday so I can pay him. That will be a nice big chunk off the debts.

got a few more payments to go out this week but will wait til they leave my bank for that.

Keep up the good work everyone!!!

Oooh do we count mortgage payments? Do we put the payment or how much it has reduced the balance by? I am only counting non mortgage debt at the minute.

I got a bit fed up the other day, I see people making PAD's and I thought "I wonder how much I'd have to PAD to reach my £12500? ". Answer? £34 a day, or about £1060 a month

I thought, "I'm never going to be able to do that just with overpayments", and it all seemed like to was going to be a real struggle.

It took a few days for me to realise that actually, it's not all through overpayments. Overpayments come from whatever money is left over after paying the bills, however, some of my bill are already going towards paying off the debt, I don't need to do it all with overpayments.

Even if I make no overpayments at all, my regular budgeted payments take nearly £300 a month off my total, so by doing absolutely nothing, I'd still be 1/4 of the way to my £12,500 by the end of the year. Add this to the amount I've already paid off, and I'm half way there, with eleven months to go!! The only thing of course is that trying to find a spare six grand to get me the rest of the way there is not going to be easy :o

I've just transferrred my Virgin CC to Santander on 0% and made the first payment today. I paid £100 but it only dropped by £45 due to the BT fee  Still, everything is now on 0%:j
    Pay off £20k (well £12.5k) by December '10 £12,500/£3398.59 = 27%
    Furniture loan [STRIKE]£816.06[/STRIKE]/£0 =100%, CSL sofas loan [STRIKE]£640[/STRIKE]/£0 =100%,Tesco Mastercard [STRIKE]£1629.39[/STRIKE]/£0 =100%,
    Santander Mastercard [STRIKE]£2262.55[/STRIKE]/£2217.50 = 2%,Halifax Loan [STRIKE]£2747.42[/STRIKE]/£2491.24 =9%
Bank of Mum and Dad in Law [STRIKE]£3300[/STRIKE]/£3160 =4%,
