I don't have an egg card, but similar happened to me recently on my Britannia Mastercard.
Any they say that the age of irresponsible lending is dead !!
I just rang them and asked them to bring it back down.0 -
My credit limit was increased by 1k today as well.0

£900 increase here - must be because it is a different type of credit card now to the original one which you preload as well.0

I've just looked again and my increase was actually £1200.0

I got nothing different. My Egg Money never goes into debt as I pre load it before any significant expenditure.

Yep - mine went up by £1200 as well (and it comes just after I took out two more cards). They do tell you in the secure message though that you can opt out of automatic credit limit increases.0

The same here, £1200 up. I only use it for daily shopping but now I may be able to squeeze some holiday on it to get cashback.0

but now I may be able to squeeze some holiday on it
Be careful (if you mean pay for a holiday rather than just spending).
Many holiday companies charge for using credit cards in excess of the cashback.
You should be made aware of this, but certainly it should be apparent on the amount.0 -
£600 increase I think but can't remember exactly what it was before...0

Be warned, this is how I ran up £47,000 worth of credit card debt. Each November, I'd get a letter from the various companies saying that as I was managing my account so well, they'd decided to increase my limit.0
