You need a wireless router and either a wireless card or dongle for your laptop

non wireless routers are very old these days and you can usually get (at least on loan) a wireless combined router+modem free from many broadband providers when you sign up, worth talking to your existing supplier and suggest you need one and might switch if they don't send you one for free (without you needing to sign up for anything more with them)

if you swap your existing modem with a wireless one you'll need nothing more to provide wireless coverage, the netbook will work, also you will remain able to plug your laptop into the modem and operate as you do now.

if you also want to make your laptop wireless too you'll need a wireless dongle/card for it as well.

I'm unfamiliar with the console but if its wireless out of the box that'll work straight off too

You're also unfamiliar with whether the OP is on ADSL or on cable – because the OP didn't mention it.

If the OP is on cable, a modem wireless router is not what's needed.

Even if the OP is on ADSL, it's unlikely that his/her ISP will provide a modem wireless router that is 802.11b/g/n capable or has Gigabit LAN ports.

Better, longterm, as cyberbob recommends, to buy simply a wireless router – preferably with 802.11n and Gigabit LAN ports – and attach it to the OP's existing means of connection to the Internet (whichever that be).

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
