Hi just spend the afternoon reading most of your diary, you are doing so well, my daughter has got her prom this year.haven't got dress yet but hoping not to spend as much as you. :rotfl:

    ...

Whatever you do, don't spend a lot! I was assured by my dd2 that she would wear the dress again after getting it altered and has she ... heck.

I found the dress hanging in the spare room wardrobe the other day. I may have to start trying to sell it to get some money back.

    Hi!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello, have read through your whole thread this afternoon. You've done so well, and as a long-hauler myself, it's satisfying to see the progress you can make from relatively small OPs.

One of my resolutions is to try and post more, I get shy and think my comments won't be wanted, or I just lurk, but I know myself that I love it when someone posts on my diary so I need to make more effort!

So just wanted to say 'Well done!' and remind you that we're all rooting for you, though we may not post much :o

    Hi Calfuray,

Many thanks for reading and posting, that is exactly why I haven't posted much too.

Well back to work after the weekend break. Not a lot to report and am afraid to say I have spent money this weekend. :( I've bought some curtains and a light pendant for my small bedroom as dd3 has recently moved in there. Its a long story but basically I got fed up of her never cleaning her room and leaving clean clothes that I had ironed on her bedroom floor that I told her she was moving into the small bedroom so she no longer has room to mess up! So basically child not happy but I am. Attic room now completely clean and habitable again. I may let her back in after a few months maybe. ;)

I've also had to buy a small oil filled radiator for my little ensuite as there is no heating in there. You would not believe what is able to freeze when you get out of the shower into a cold room. :rotfl: Now that isnt happening as I have the radiator on a timer and it warms the small space, its heaven. :)

I went mad with my groceries as well and I've spent next weeks budget as well so will only be buying milk and bread this Thursday and will eat out of the freezer and cupboard next week.

So payday on Thursday, will see what I can op this month. I do still have the kids treat money left at the mo but may carry that over.

Going to have all nsds this week whilst at work too.

Have a good week all. :)

Argghh, yesterday had a call from dd2 to say her bedroom lights weren't working. I asked her to check all the others and the small bedroom light (dd3) would switch on but then not switch off! I said I bought a new light shade for that room at the weekend well I also tried to replace the pendant light fitting. It was fine on Sunday afternoon but obviously I've wired it up wrong hence the problems now. So when I got home last night I had to turn off the electrics for the upstairs lights to be on the safe side because I can't look at the problem until Friday when I have daylight!

This morning I opened the kitchen blind to see my greenhouse missing! I have one of those 6x4 green plastic walkin jobs which was anchored down using bricks and a 6ft concrete post. So looking out the attic window, we saw a bit of green over in a garden 3 doors down. How in hell it got there I don't know. It wasnt even windy last night. Anyway went to see the owner this morning and explained it was mine and me and the kids will walk it home tonight (in the dark obviously) :rotfl:

Not my week this week so far :)

    Hi Lulubelle,

Yes the greenhouse was duly collected last night (in the dark) and walked home by 3 teenagers in hysterics. We very nearly lost it as it had to be 'thrown' over the poor ladys 7ft gates to get it out her garden and because it was windy last night, it very nearly ended up on a car on the other side of the road!

But, it is now safety back in my garden currently lying on its side with the garden refuse bin, two garden chairs and a wooden garden table in it to stop it going flying again. I will sort it out properly at the weekend when I can see.

Just sent off my paperwork to open a new savings account for the NSI savings so at least my gas boiler money will earn a little something till it has to be spent.

Still no upstairs lights as I have had to turn the electrics off. Looks like I will have to pay for an electrician because I can't figure this one out at all. Really mad at that.

Had nsds all this week apart from a 50p stamp. I realised I didn't put the whole petrol budget in the car this month so I now have £10 for groceries for this week.

Payday tomorrow, yay! Its been a long month this one.

    Have a good day all.

    Hi,

Last day of the month at last. Managed an op to m2 so this now stands as follows:

Bal - £8100.60 currently to end on Jan 24 instead of May 36.
    147 months knocked off

Had the 6 monthly electric and gas bill today. £227 to pay off which has now been done so I owe them nothing. Very happy to report money still in the gas & electric account so this will be going into savings i think. I need another 2 new radiators along with the gas boiler.

    Hi all,

Well another new week, not a great deal to report.

I managed to solve the light situation so that is all ok now. On a different note however, I have had to call in the electricity 'board' as Ive been told that my meter is not earthed correctly so I have to pay to have this pme'd. This cost ranges from £42 to £131. This really has annoyed me tbh as I don't see why I should pay for an electricity meter to be installed correctly! I understand that any work I have done should be done according to the rules & regulations which are around now but the meter is not mine really. I dont touch it, I have never touched it since it was installed and it cant be changed by me, it belongs to the electric supplier so they should check it is ok and bring it up to date etc.

Sorry rant over but it galls me, this sort of thing.

Spent my allowance already as I treated myself to a new bird table. Im trying to encourage more little birds to my garden as all I get are great fat pidgeons and they've broken my current table. So now I have one with a roof on so hopefully they won't get under it!

Tried tidying up the garden on Sat as it was a decent day, greenhouse door zip has broke, arghh but at least it won't be going anywhere now. It is wired up to concrete!!! I want to start on getting in the garden again to grow things soon. I would love to dig my little lawn up and have a veg plot :-). Hmm may have to think this through.

Spent money on a sarnie and coffee today, very nice treat at £3.50 which is a change from the usual lunch. I felt it was deserved.

Meter being pmed tomorrow I think so one more job done.

    Shopping tonight, budget is £25.

Well, meter has been pmed so is now safe. Was told the cost should be £136 but if I agreed to have it done immediately, they would charge me £43! Strange that I think! Anyway, I agreed to have it done, I had no choice really so that is emergency money spent for Feb.

Savings money put away for last 3 years has done well, I'm happy with the interest I got back. That has now been put away ready for the boiler spends in summer.

Went well over the grocery budget last week. Should have spent £25 but spent £43 instead. Budget left for Feb stands at £130.

No other spends this weekend fortunately. I did some hm baking for this weeks lunches. Paid the mortgage today for Feb so that is out the way. Not sure of what I can op this month yet.
