Our venue is doing the kids menu at £10 per head and the drinks package at £3.60 per head.

Surely if the kids are sitting down, you will need to include them- hopefully at a rather good price. However, if there is a buffet, here is the question- who is really going to be counting your guests? I'd just go for a rough number (thus keeping it cheaper). Let us know how you go!0
