Dilemma for Catering Per Head for Kids

Hi all
Just need some advice on if some people are including kids (under 6) on their wedding reception lists for the meals
The caterers we want to use for our wedding ceremony are highly recommended by two people I know for the quality of the food and their generous servings etc. On both occasions my friends said there was enough food for people to go back 2-3 three times for more servings which is encouraging and they work direct with the Hotel with are having the reception venue so they are health and safety certified etc
The dilemma we have is we have around 7 kids that may be attending the reception meal that are under 6 years old. The caterer seems to think we should include the kids too per head as well but correct me if I’m wrong but how much food is a young child going to eat compared to an adult?
Just wanted to know what other people have done in this scenario please
Much appreciated

It isnt unusual for caterers to ask for children to be included on a per head basis because they have to ensure that there is enough food for them. The caterer may have a separate costing for children and you may decide to have a separate menu for them e.g. fish fingers and chips or whatever it is that kids eat these days.
All the caterers that I work with all work on a cost per head basis and most have separate costs for children especially if they are having a different menu.0 -
The venue we are looking at reckons on half price for under 10's - does that help?0

Our venue is catering the children at £15 per head, compared to the £67.50 per adult head. HTH:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

Our venue also offers half price for children under 10.
They can either have the same menu as we have chosen or anything off the hotel childrens menu.

Our venue charges £12.50 per head for the kids meals compared to £45 for the adults. For the evening buffet we won't include kids in the numbers. HTH0

Our hotel was slightly different again from some of them, we had any under 5s eat free and any children aged 5 to 15 for half price. Hope you come to a suitable arrangement x0

I'm paying $30 for children under 13 and $130 for adults. They get their choice of grilled cheese, hamburger, or chicken fingers and of course no booze.
I am also getting a discount for all young adults under 21 as they are not allowed to drink, the wedding is in the US.0 -
Our venue is all under 8's eat free from childrens menu and 8-12's are half price and can eat from the kids menu or have what were having
