Help with minim setup
Hi can anyone help me with this meter please.
I need someone to explain in numpty terms how to put in my tariff etc.
I am on the essentials tariff.
Old bill details: first 119khw X 20.797p =£24.75
Next 1293kwh x 11.183 =£144.60.
Meter was read 17th sept and we used 1412.00kwh over 87 days.
New tariff will be: Tier 1 up to 225kwh 13.792 per kwh.
Tier 2 above 225kwh 9.333p per kwh.
I need to get the average of the 2 tariffs to enter in to the minim so how do I do it.
I warn everyone it will really have to be step by step cos I am not a bit technical.

You should be updating the minim monitor with the lastest tariff details as that is what you will be charged for all future consumption.
If you mean the meter is not capable of handling 2 tier charges, use the lower tier rate and allow for the effective standing charge the tier 1 premium caters for."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Read the second post in this thread:

I would just enter the lower priced tier 2 value and use that to monitor the price of your consumption and then keep in mind on top of that what your monthly effective standing charge will be.
ie 13.792p - 9.333p is 4.459p. This is for 225 kWh every quarter. Per month that is about (225 units x 4.459p / 3) or £3.34 every month.0 -
Thanks everyone I have tried to put the tariff in but I am having the same problem as I had earlier.
I don't know how to input the actual figures as when I press the set button it goes to the tariff 1 part, it has 0.00 I then have to press the up button until each 0 changes it gets to reach 0.99 when I continue to press I then get to tariff 2 screen so don't know how to keep going until the display shows 9.33.
I am not explaining very well am I?
If I could show the minim display I could explain better.
Has anyone actually set one of these flipping things?
Sorry everyone I have brain fog today and can't articulate properly.0 -
Are you sure the prices are not meant to be input in £ ?
i.e. 9.33p is £0.09 (give or take a bit)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
