Camera Delayed Timer

Hello Teachie people,

I have this sony cybershot camera DSC-W55. Anytime i used it to take pictures, it has a fraction of delay. It will flash at appropriate time but the object i am trying to take the picture would have moved before it actually snap.

What can i do?

Do you have the flash set for 'red eye reduction'? With this mode, you get 2 flashes and the picture is taken on the second flash. With standard flash, the picture is taken the same time as the (once only) flash.

This is just a guess - I don't have a Sony camera, but others work the same way.

There's not a lot you can do about shutter lag, other than buying another camera with a faster response. That said, the DSC-W55 doesn't appear to be criticised for shutter lag, although it's an issue with most digital cameras to a greater or lesser extent.

    How long is the delay?

Anything up to half a second is probably going to be shutter lag which can't be fixed but if it is longer than that then red-eye as mentioned or if really long you may have the self portrait timer on which could easily be 10 seconds.

Not sure about that particular camera, but some let you 'pre-focus' by half pressing the shutter button, so it focuses first, then you fully press and it takes the shot instantly.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that
