Invalid Credit Card contracts

I keep seeing adverts stating that if your credit card contract was before 2007 it might be invalid and therefor illegal. I have seen nothing on this website which raises my concerns. Has anybody heard or used this method and does it work!! I have 2 agreements, both before 2007 so am obviously interested. + I hve now asked Barclaycard twice for a copy of my original contract and on both occasions they have sent leaflets or ignored my request -i take it if they have no contract I have no agreement in place????

    Here is a simple analogy for you to think over;

If your employer found that your contract of employment was "unenforceable" and subsequently told you to leave and to pay him back all of your wages, would that be acceptable? Oh no, we couldn't have that now could we, the world would be up in arms!
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

I despise those companies, and it's us genuine consumers that pay for it with unecessary rate increase
  • You borrow it, you pay it back what is so hard to work out about that.

Why are so many people in this country wanting to wriggle out of their responsibilities.

I spent it, I can't afford to pay it back, must be the banks fault for lending it to me. How about it was your fault for spending money you COULD NOT afford to pay back.
    Iva started Dec 2018.
  • How about I took the card out when I was in a very good job and have now been made redundant ?

I was perfectly fine when I was working, now I cannot afford to eat.

Then you should of made contingencies for such possible events occurring !

Just because you were made redundant it doesn't abdicate your responsibility to pay back money you borrowed.
  • no it doesn't and I am not saying so, but circumstances change, I didn't borrow money that I KNEW I couldn't pay back.

    Hi,
Take a look at the never-in-doubt letter templates
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1868507

You could put the account into dispute until they provide the agreement, which is what i am doing but do a bit of reading on the matter first.

    Good luck

Well yes you are saying that ! Whether you knew or not the money still needs repaying.
