Hi, regulars on this board will know that i have had a copy of XP pro that developed viruses. My main problem was that the copy of XP pro i bought turned out to be pirated so couldn't update. it will warn you when you are starting that there is something already on the Disk , I would choose at that point to do a format and fresh install on the hard disk to avoid any legacy stuff from the dodgy copy
