Unfair Bank Charges

Hi
I am new to this site and just want to give a brief outline of what happened to me and see if anyone has some advice. I dont fully understand todays ruling but it seems that the Banks can do as they want now.
Lat October I used my Solo Card and it debited from my account straight away. Now the Bank claim it took 3 days and charged me £28. Then the following Month another £28 and so on. The charges were because the charges were taking me overdrawn. I am on JSA so couldnt really afford it. I spoke to the manager at my branch and it was just No No No and they put spin on it. Anyway after using my card a few times (Solo only works when there is money in the account) The same thing and one week I was charged £35 instantly and without warning and £28 on top of that. The bank said it was for 'Card Missuse'
It totalled £400 charges for something I dont believe is my fault, The Ombusman helped but the bank said I understaed my income on their form and was not in hardship.
Does anyone think I should Carry on claiming.
Thanks in advance

Bit off topic but am I right in saying that banks cannot make a profit from their charges. If that is the case then how come,if the banks had lost, they would of lost £2.6 billion in revenue a year. Also if they have already paid out millions, isn't that a sign of guilt?0

Did you understate your income or was the household income and expenditure understated?
Is the FOS looking at the claim today?0 -

Sorry - no on all counts
It was an argument in the case that was lost that banks shouldn't make a profit from their charges but the argument was not accepted.
Revenue is not profit.
And paying out before was not a sign of guilt. For any large company it's cheaper to pay out on a totally unjustified small claim than defend it - but then things started getting out of hand. There were too many such claims and they had to change tack and defend them.0 -
They haven't defended any claims, they agreed to a test case. I think what the OP forgot to mention was the 4.2billion in interest foregone on current accounts.Sorry - no on all counts
