i have just booked accommodation with travel republic, as they state they give you 100% financial protection. But i have noticed they have booked my accommodation with accommodation providers Jumbo Tours, which i have investigated and they seem very unreliable. I have just emailed the apartments and they have no booking in my name. I have emailed Travel Republic about the matter but still await a response. Would i be able to claim my money back if any thing goes wrong, or does their financial protection mean nothing.

Travel Republic have a telephone number you can contact them on - it is on the top of their web site. TR are a travel agency who have all the usual ABTA/ATOL protection so you are covered. It is just the same as booking thru a high street travel agency. What problems have you see about Jumbo Tours?

How long ago did you book? It is very possible the apartments won't actually have your details yet depending on when the booking was made and when you travel. Jumbo Tours will probably have an allocation of rooms at the accomodation which they will sell. They may well not pass your details to the apartments in real time, and it might not be until much nearer the date of travel. Even the big tour operators operate like this.

No, you cant claim your money back but you could submit a complaint asking for recompense for the problems that may have happened.

No doubt they would consider and reply with a suitable response.

Enjoy it, dont look for problems!

Travel Republic do not have an ATOL licence they operate a total financial protection plan.

I work for an accommodation only company, we send the booking details to the hotels and apartments between 7 and 14 days prior to clients arriving (depends on when the hotel want to receive them). Most operators work like this.

I booked accomodation in July with Jumbo tours via travel republic, everything was fine, no problem.

I've booked accomodation only through travel republic, we go to Lanzarote monday. I emailed the hotel the other day and everythings fine. You should leave it a while as they might not have your details yet (as the others have said)
