How long before payment shows up ?

I won an auction on Saturday and paid immediately, the money lay unclaimed until Monday teatime, so I cancelled the payment and contacted the seller, asking them to check their account. Yesterday they sent an invoice, no explanation as to why the first payment was unclaimed, so I paid again.

Today 2 payments for the same amount have come out of my bank, 1 for the purchase and I'm assuming the other is for the cancelled payment, but the cancelled payment is not showing in my paypal balance. Against the cancelled payment it is showing completed. How long is it before it will show up, I'd have thought it would be as soon as it is taken from my bank account.

This happened to me just before halloween. I bought an item and paid straight away then the seller contacted me and said that it was out of stock so they would refund, which they did. Then the money came out of my bank account but neither the refund or the money from my bank account showed in paypal until 10 (working!) days later! The wopman at paypal was very cheeky & unhelpful about it when i phoned to ask why it was taking so long. I'm sure you'll get it back, but I think it can take anything up to 14 days.
