Ps the problem comes when you want to return it
Have known people to resort to dumping ( could have put that better ) at the local hospital after letters and phone call promises had been ignored.
Problem is that returned equipment has to be sterile before it can be re-issued, it's often cheaper to skip it. Elf & safety etc.
Red cross can often help with equipment such as commodes/wheelchairs. Our area they loan for up to 3 months. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
Last year I had two walking sticks, commode, bath seat and zimmer frame ,
lots of promises to collect but no one ever did .
Some came from the hospital and some from the social.
When one van did turn up , bribed driver with a cup of tea to take 'all' and not only his
Felt guilty that the equipment so freely available to me was not available to others as it was in my garage.0 -
Thanks for all the advice.
She could be using it for quite a while - as we can not get another toilet plumbed in due to location of Victorian sewer pipes at the house ( I think that's what the builder said).
I shall definitely be talking to the hospital before she leaves.
Thanks MSE - I know i would get support here!!0
