PrePayment Gas/Electricity Rebate
My Mam had visit from two men from Scottish Power today. They asked her if she was on a prepayment meter for her utilities and when she replied that she was, rather than trying to get her to switch from EDF, they told her that she may have someone come to her door and give her £10 to put on her meter. I don't know how this would be done whether they would give her cash or whether it would be credited to her key/card when she next topped up.
They said that it had been on TV but neither myself or my mother have seen anything about it.
I have tried googling for information but the stuff I have found is a bit hit and miss. There is no solid information as to how much will be given, by which companies or any dates when this would happen.
Do any Money Savers out there have similar experiences or any more information on this matter? I would greatly appreciate some enlightenment on this matter.

Never heard anything about this. Just make sure she uses her own key.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

She said it would be someone from EDF not Scottish Power. They didn't ask her to sign anything or for any other details except was she on a PrePayment meter and which company she was with.
Like I said earlier have googled it and seems to be legit but no other details as to who, when or how??0 -
Have you rung EDF to ask?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Sounds very dubious!!!
When you transfer supplier you get a new key and you calibrate it with your meter FIRST and then future credits / top ups go to the new supplier.
I wouldn't let them in or fiddle with the meter!! I've had trouble with BG wanting to come in for a vague view of my meter and complained to them!

TBH I didn't think of ringing EDF, DUH! lol
If it is a scam to get my Mum to change to SP and they turn up at her door with a different key I think that they will be sorely disappointed. She isn't easily conned and was just asking me because it sounded interesting.
Like I said I have found some bits of information regarding this by googling.

Unfortunately, they all seem to be talking about energy suppliers taking of standing charges and making energy unit costs the same as those who receive bills. There doesn't seem to be anything about receiving money back unless you claim for overcharges??0
