Evening all,
Was gutted when I heard today's result, but hoping that glimmer of hope is still out there.
My query, I claimed under Financial Hardship as my Husband is currently unemployed been Self employed for over 7 yrs in construction & I have just given birth to our second child a baby boy 12/11/09 so currently on maternity leave.
We claimed £7k inc interest from Alliance & Leicester & last week they sent a cheque for £1,300 I was going to go back for more, but as the test case was this week I held off, should I now accept I was lucky to get anything & cash the cheque or should I go back for more?
Any advice greatly received please.
Regards,
Karen

They are not going to offer you any more. You would have to go to court using the new argument that Martin has identified. However it's going to take a long time (probably 2 years+) until anyone actually takes that alternative basis all the way to the Supreme Court to get a final decision as to whether it's right or not. So really it's a question of whether you would rather have the money now in your account, or refuse it and *hope* that the new argument works out... in a couple of years' time. I know what I'd do.0

I eventually found your post Karen. Have you made a decison yet? or managed to review Martins new argument?
I've had some slight interest on my post. - most notably, that I should probably accept the reduced amount before the bank withdraw their offer:mad:
have you had any further thoughts?Another day, another dollar lost.0
