British Transport Police Educational Videos

I don't know if anyone will know what the hell i'm talking about, but when i was in primary school the british transport police came in and gave us a talk about railway safety. They showed us a video about a group of kids deciding to take a short cut across the railway line, and one of the children (called Billy i think) gets his football boot stuck on the line. His friends are urging him to hurry and as he tries to pull it free he falls back on the line and electrocutes himself. The last part of the video shows him in a wheelchair! My adult brain tells me he was more likely to die....but there we go, it still shocked the hell out of me. Just wondering if anyone, born in the early 80's has any idea what i am talking about, cos i've searched google and cant find anything, and i'm definitely not making it up!?! Also wondering if they still go into schools nowadays and do things like that?

The BTP do go into schools (at least they do in Scotland) as part of the community policing. Don't know that they show many videos, although it's a popular method, so I'd imagine they do. Still feel that those who trespass and get hurt deserve no sympathy at all. The fact that there are folks who know what they're doing get hit by trains, I'd think that even the thickest of the thick could work out that numpties should stay away...Fight Crime : Shoot Back.
It's the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without being seduced by it.

I remember it!! No idea how you would get a copy, but if you were worried that you were going mad, then I can definitely confirm that you weren't halucinating. I even remember thinking 'Why doesn't he just leave his football boot?' when all his friends were calling to him.0

I've found the video you are on about, that Robbie can be a naughty boy, the music and Peter Purves makes it even more sinister.
