PPI: reclaim from HSBC

Back in 2006 i took out a personal loan form HSBC. I did the initial part online and it would not accept my application unless i put the insurance on. I remember it gave me three choices for the insurance. I went to my local branch and the customer service advisor told me that is was very necessary to take the insurance out.
Now my question is do i still have grounds to reclaim my PPI?

Yes it seems you do have grounds for being mis sold, going by what you have said.
Check here below, the link of the guidelines of reclaiming, with letter templates, and a checklist of mis selling reasons, in case anything else applies to you.

Ask for help from here if required, I would suggest though to post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of delivery.
