Help with Sainsburys Online Saver application

I'm trying to open a joint account but when I get to the bit where it asks you for the deposit amount, it always says:
Sorry, you have entered invalid details for your Deposit amount. Please try again.
What am I doing wrong? Even entering a figure of £1000 or higher gives the same error.
Thanks.

You seem to know Sainsburys web pages better than they do ! I had the same problem last week. Rang them up , they said it was a 'known bug they were working on', and to leave it blank. More like a badly designed page, the numpties... Still, the account seems to be up and running ok with my initial deposit. One thing that did irritate was that their was no option in the application to opt out of marketing. Had to do that over the phone, bit naughty of them IMHO.0 -
The problem I had was with identify verification. Its never been an issue before. Called them and apparently Sainsburys use thier own system which is very strict. Had to cancel original application and start again. I'm not prepared to risk sending them my original passport or driving licence so if it doesn't work this time will go elsewhere - their loss!0

How long does it take for them to send something by mail as I applied on the 25th November but have heard nothing since via snail mail or email.0

Got a letter yesterday (2 Dec) from my 2nd application made on 26 Nov, so just short of a week.
Still couldn't verify ID, so I called them again and they did a manual verification - I passed.
Waiting now for them to send more paperwork, so I can send them a cheque to open the account.0
