Anyone had a visit from Savings Advice Ltd?

Hi Everyone.

Just had 2 people turn up on my doorstep from Savings Advice Ltd telling me I had been overcharged by my utility company. Took me a while to realise that they were actually working on behalf of EDF who I had recently switched from. Didn't like their tactics and 'cloak and dagger' routine and feel I could have been easily swayed to switch again if I didn't twig onto them. Has anyone else had dealings with them?

  • Hi,

I have delt with Savings Advice in the past, i was made aware straight away that they were an agency working on behalf of EDF energy. EDF Energy was found to be the best deal in my area - on comparrison to my gas and electricity arrangements previously EDF energy saved me a sufficient amount of money. I disagree about the cloaks and dagger statement becasue surely the way you know they represent EDF, is presumably because they told you..

The only advice your get from that team of Northern Doorknockers is to switch to EDF !!!!
  • With all respect, EDF are one of the cheepest if not the cheepest! Fair enough if they were sneakily representing british gas or n power i would see your qwarms, come on guys.. EDF are a good deal.. Savings Advice is probably who pays their wages not EDF. (Think about it from their point of view, emplyed by savings advice.. therefore were savings advice.)

With all respect, that's a bit of a general statement isn't it. Surely that depends on your region, your consumption, how you manage your account etc.

You don't work for them do you?
  • Being 44, Its not my line of profession. I simply just disagree with some of the comments, just checked on USWITCH and EDF are the cheapest.. Im making my opinion aware just like you would if your thort Scottish Power was the cheapest. And if Savings advice are a northern based selling team then chances are that its this area that theyre the cheapest in, hense my decision to use the savings advice rep who called at my property.
