UPVC door lock problem

I'm having trouble with the lock on my front door. It's a uPVC door and when trying to insert/remove the key after locking/unlocking, it's difficult to get out. It's kind of catching in the barrel when you pull it out and you have to gently wiggle it to remove it. This only happens on the outside of the door, it's fine on the inside.
I'm sure this has happened before and my husband fixed it but he can't remember if/what he did:D
Anyone got any ideas?

Good squirt of WD-40? If it's only on one side of the lock, that would suggest the key is fine & its more likely to be the pins in the lock.
IMO (JPlocksmiths might think different) if the WD-40 doesn't sort it, just replace it - 5 minute job and cheaper than calling out a locksmith if it fails completely.0 -

We tried the WD40 option but it didn't make any difference:(0 -
Oh I do think Differant
lol
WD-40 contrury to what they would have you belive is no good for locks as it washes out all the manafacturers grease leaving the lock unlubricated and likley to wear out faster ( probably what your husband did!)
I would say the cylinder is now worn out and needs replacing. quite a simple job if your half compitent with a screw driver. But remember the lock MUST be flush with the outside handle to remain secure.
