ive noticed people are still using ebay, and paying their fees.
why not use other sites like Gumtree and preloved.
They are completely free
This is the way forward

    Better infrastructure.
    More buyers.
More convenient (bitch all you like about Paypal, but being able to print the postage label directly from the payment's bloody useful).
Ask a randomer in the street if they've heard of Gumtree, Ebid etc, then if they've heard of Ebay. Most will only know of one of them... and it doesn't start with a G or end in D

Oh, and if you think ebay's expensive, try selling on Amazon...

Give it time and people will be moving over to those other sites.
I dont know what you mean about printing a postage label?
If people like paying top-price for items, then its up to them..more people will move over to these sites.
Why keep paying fees, to make someone else rich.
I've spoken to a few people on the street, and they dont bother much with ebay now..because they have to give free postage.

I find Gumtree good for selling furniture but not much else. A few other things I listed on Gumtree did eventually sell on Ebay, one of them for a higher price than I was asking on Gumtree! The problem with Gumtree is the buyer has to trust the seller to send the item (unless it's local collection) and most people are not prepared to do this (for good reason as there are some scammers on Gumtree for electronics etc)

Ebid is no good as there are no people buying on there.

I top your 'few people in the street' with the amount of sellers on here who still use ebay, and see you with the several thousand that sign up every day.

I sell where the buyers are, I really don't care where other sellers 'in the street' want to sell unless they want to buy my stuff. I have tried other sites, I am actively listing on 4 other sites as well as ebay and only Ebay and Amazon give me any sales at all.
