Festival Apartments - Not Returning Deposit!

Did you manage to get your deposit back? I've had exactly the same thing with Festival Apartments and have already reported him to the Edinburgh police.
I booked for August 2012 in September 2011 then in May 2012 they email to cancel the booking but won't give me back the deposit.0 -
Letter Before Action (sent recorded delivery) demanding return of the deposit within 14 days due to their breach of contract, else Small Claims Court action will be pursued, whereupon they will also be liable for the claims costs. Then if they don't refund (or even respond) START THE ACTION!0

The police won't be interested, it is a civil matter.
If they cancelled the booking there is no reason they shouldn't return the deposit. There isn't really many options though other than small claims. Send them a letter demanding your deposit back within 14 days.0
