.... or shall I just let the scrap man take them? Three are reasonably large and one is quite small. (1 x 1200 mm, 2 x 1000 mm, 1 x 500 mm)
Does anyone know roughly how much they would be worth if I weighed them in?
Thanks in advance

Not worth the hassle.
Even copper & brass would need to be enough to to make it worth effort/hassle/damage to interior of car/fuel.

I'm going to take a 1300mm double rad down the scrap yard on Saturday (along with other scrap), so will let you know what it's worth. Surely it's going to be better to take them down there than getting rid of them elsewhere? You know what the tips are like now when it comes to DIY waste - mine allows 1 big item a week!0

Hi BB, thanks, i'll look out for your post with interest!0

Me too. Six months ago demand for scrap steel/iron was such that !!!!!! were stealing manhole covers to flog to the scrap man — it was quite a problem for some utilities. At that time scrap prices were fuelled by Chinese industrial demand. With the deepening recession prices crashed quite quickly. I suspect the scrap man will ask for a bung to take the rad off your hands!

How long is it going to take you to do this?
Roughly.
Money is money. Somebody else will take them off your hands i am sure.
Better in your pocket.0 -
I weighed in six large old radiators..........for a grand total of £4.0

there's a couple of merchants within a mile from our house
i suppose to load the car, drive there, unload and back would take 30 mins ish?
if fto's payment is similar to how much we would have, it certainly isn't worth it!
we'll have no problem getting rid of them via the scrap man - they come round a couple of times a week and when we were rennovating and had one come through the back garden to collect some items, he tried to take the old iron stench pipe from the outdoor toilet that it was still connected too!!!
Thanks again for your comments0 -
