Refund not received after 30 days

I recently brought an item online, the item was listed as in stock and they took payment the same day (even though their own Terms & Conditions say they will not take payment until the order is dispatched). Two weeks (and several excuses from the retailer) later the item had still not shipped so I cancelled the order and they said they'd refund me (have emails detailing such). The regulations say a refund has to be made within 30 days but that is now approaching and still no refund.
I've already emailed them to say that I'll be reporting them to Trading Standards and looking at legal advice if they pass the 30 day deadline to which they never replied or acknowledged.
I used a Visa Debit Card to make the purchase, can I just reclaim the money back through the bank (HSBC)? If this isn't possible any advice?
Thanks

Not sure about claiming the money back through the bank - there is chargeback but I'm not sure if it is relevant to your case.
Give them the full 30d - a company I'm dealing with at the moment left it to the 30th day.
If this milestone passes, then write to them (recorded delivery) advising them that have failed in their duty under the DSR regs and if they fail to credit your account in 14d, you will proceed without further notice to recover the refund through the county court plus costs.
It wont go that far0
