If you can read the Vin number a main dealer should be able to get you a key.

Where abouts are these on the car? I've found a dealer. The cars about 20 miles away though, be good if I could ring up the yard and get them to read me the number.

If you ring the dealer they will order you a key on presentation of the log book but you will have to wait for it to arrive, then you will have to tow the car to them so they can program the key to the immobiliser.

I am not sure but the Vin number might be on the M O T certificate.

The VIN number is on the V5 - logbook
  • I have found the VIN on my mot cert. I got very excited thinking I could just take that plus ID to local dealer which isnt far from me. But apparently not JPlocks!
I have a variety of numbers now - will just start ringing early in the morning and hopefully sort something. Just need to borrow a pile of cash from housemates as I could end up all over the place in taxis etc tomorrow

  • You will find the VIN on the log book and the MOT certificate. PM me this number and I will be able to get you your mechanical key number and immobiliser PIN. These 2 numbers are all you will need to get a vehicle locksmith to cut and program you a new key. The codes usually cost £18 + vat from Peugeot but I can get them for free. Let me know where you are and I will see if I know a locksmith nearby.

People normally find things in the last place they look so try there first and work backwards
  • Lol dacouch you can go sift through the mud for me if you're so good at finding stuff!

Have to go prove I own car at dealership which is on the worst road for rush hour traffic, then will go to stables to search and if dont find it ring dealers and pay for codes - then ring locksmith. What a nightmare - once I have my keys back can I get another one cut for cheaper than the £150ish new ones cost, I really need a spare!?

If you have one key a copy can easly be made and the code copyed, it's when you loose them it gets expencive. expect it be about £70 for a copy.

Is there any chance that you have locked them in the car? the number of times I am asked for new car keys when they have been lost only to find them in the boot when I have opened the car.
  • Thank you everyone for all your help but the keys are found!!! They were in the riding arena, just had a call. Off to buy chocolates for the lady who went looking for them. Think I'll def get a spare jplocks :D
