    hi all

thanks for all your suggestions and support. i've decided that i am going to go into work tommorrow and if anything at all happens to upset me i will take weds off to visit the doc.

at lunchtime today after discussions with my hubby i was prepared to hand my 8wk notice in - so at least i could see an end in sight. but after looking at my bank acc. i've started to panic as i don't have another job lined up at all - although the boss from my nightime job knows the situation and has said that i can work there f/t as a stopgap.

the suggestion of temping is one i've seriously considered and i will register with some tommorrow.

thanks everyone - i'll let you know how i get on....

IKON - does your partner work for a bank/building society?
Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!

Going to work for your "night time" job as a stop gap sounds like a really good idea, not least because you can ask them to act as referee on any future job applications, being your most recent employer. then you wont be depending on a good reference from the other place.

If things are that bad with your manager, they may be happy to let you go with less than 8 weeks notice anyway.

hi boltonangel, this intrigues me....if you don't mind me asking, do you work for a bank/building society? I only ask because I work for one, and the stories on this thread of despicable treatment by employers all seem very familiar to me......I think banks believe they are above the law, both regarding their customers and their employees...

I have a friend who used to work for the Royal Bank Of Scotland in one of the Bolton branchs. They started messing her about and treating her like something they'd steped in. It affected her health quite bad in the end she found another job which was taking a pay cut and belts had to be tightened but at least the stress is a almost none existent compared with RBS. She once went £2 over her o/d, she had to have her wages paid into a RBS account, they dragged her into the office and lectured her for over an hour. She couldn't take it anymore she's a compleatly different person now shes left.
    I wish you luck

    thanks for all the support.

i went into work yesterday and as one of the execs was visiting branch today i was told in front of the other members of staff that i needed to 'sort' my hair out- there is nothing wrong with my hair at all!!

i've just had enough of it all. i rang some temp agencies yesterday, but there was nothing of interest.
