TopCashBack & Switch to Eon Problem

Does anyone know if the Eon site is down? I've tried both via TCB & Quidco but each time the Eon site says ''can't give you a quote at this time, please try later or telephone us on .....''. I've been trying for two weeks now. Thinking it might be my settings or something I did a dummy run on Npower - which is fine. So it's just Eon, anyone else successfully switched recently via a cashback site ?

Is there any chance that they havent closed a previous account down, happened to me I discovered that they had moved Gas elsewhere, not Electric so when i came to want to switch back to E.ON they couldnt give me a quote or anything as they classed me as an existing customer.0

Don't think so but ......... If I get time I might ring Eon and ask why I'm not getting anywhere with their website. Without committing to anything of course - if they're showing me as an 'existing' hopefully they'll tell me.0 -
Hi Somerset,
On a very rare occasion we find that some customers can't proceed with the quote due to an underlying issue.
The cases I have seen of this normally show a mismatch in the data we hold for the property, and/or the meter information (Meter type/meter serial number).
As a precaution to ensure the quote isn't processed for an incorrect property/meter we ask the customer to contact us so we can carry out the quote manually.
We raise an authorisation on the completion of the manual sale that ensures the relevant cash back site are aware the sale was completed via the correct process. The cash back is then carried out by TCB or Quidco in the normal fashion.

Just got off the phone with Eon (0800 056 8499) - interesting conversation.
The lady I spoke to said they'd had a 'communication' and went to find it, basically they are 'aware' of a problem with 'third party' sites ie cashback sites. There is a 'glitch' when it hits the Eon site and won't uote/switch. She offered to do the quote over the phone and said because they are aware of the problem the cashback would be honoured. Dunno ???? Having a think ....
Eon Rep thank you. As I said having a think ....... not sure whether to go via you or the call centre. Just don't want to lose the £62 if I do switch as it's all basically ''unrecorded''.0 -
